9th October 2008 - Liverpool Architectural Society Awards
St George’s Hall, Liverpool
The inaugural awards dinner, which will celebrate Liverpool Architecture, and offers guests the opportunity to meet architects from around the region. The Awards mark the contribution of architecture to the Capital of Culture celebrations, and winners will be announced on the night. Judges include Tom Bloxham MBE (Urban Splash) and Kieran Long (editor of AJ), and over 60 entries have been received. For further details, please visit visit the awards website.

23rd October 2008 - Heritage Champions National Conference
Lincoln’s Inn Field
English Heritage will be holding a national conference for their network of Heritage Champions. The event will include speeches from Baroness Andrews, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at CLG, and Margaret Hodge, Minister for Culture, Creative Industries and Tourism. There will also be a focus on changes proposed to the heritage protection regime. The day will be rounded off with evening drinks in the unique surroundings of Sir John Soane’s Museum. 11th November - The Historic Buildings, Parks and Gardens Event 2008
Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre, London
A major heritage conservation day, open free of charge to owners of historic buildings, or those who are involved in the upkeep, restoration or conservation of historic buildings, theri contents and associated landscapes.

13th and 14th November 2008 - Place, Space and Conservation - The Regeneration Game
Monastery of St Francis, Gorton Lane, Manchester
A major conference exploring the impact of heritage-led regeneration on crime reduction, health, and social and community cohesion; featuring speakers from national and local government, funders and agencies, and case studies from throughout the UK from commercial and voluntary sector developers. Organised by the Architectural Heritage Fund, the Civic Trust, Institute of Historic Building Conservation, The Prince’s Regeneration Trust and the UK Association of Preservation Trusts. 2nd December 2008 - The Reality of Creating Sustainable Communities
One Great George Street, London SW1P 3AA
University College London is running a one day conference and exhibition. This unique event will bring together senior policy makers, ediucators, designers and agents of change who are working to improve the way we shape our communities. Keynote speakers include Sir Simon Milton, Sir Bob Kerslake, Bill Rammell MP and Peter Bishop. This event is the culmination of the Government funded UrbanBuzz two year knowledge exchange programme.
