August 2007 - The Civic Trust has responded to the recent Planning White Paper, read our full response and a summary of key points.

August 2007 - an exciting new loyalty card has been launched. The card rewards those people who visit several Heritage Open Days (HODS) events. Visitors will receive stamps at each property and completed cards will be entered into a draw to win one of several great prizes. HODS takes place from 6th - 9th September 2007. 26th July 2007 - the Green Flag Award Event.
Held at the Royal Armouries in Leeds, this event brought together over 1000 parks managers, volunteers, community groups and councillors to celebrate over 550 winning Green Flag Award parks. Winners received their flags in a day time ceremony and celebrated their success with an evening dinner, followed by entertainment from the Mighty Zulu Nation. July 2007 - CABE have announced their sponsorship of the Civic Trust Awards with the introduction of the Streets Award. The Award is designed to improve the quality of our public spaces. For more information, please click here.

29th June 2007 - From 30th June to 13th July, the Civic Trust and other members of the Coalition are calling on members to get involved in a fortnight of action against some of the proposals in the Planning White Paper. For details of how you can get involved, please click here.

11th June 2007 - The Civic Trust (as part of a major industry coalition) has signed a letter to Ruth Kelly, Secretary of State, raising the concerns of more than 2.3 million people. The coalition is opposing some of the content of the Planning White Paper, which will see local people being cut out of the decision making process for developments such as airports, power stations and roads. 6th June 2007 - Civic Trust Awards - The Exhibition
This unique exhibition opened at The Building Centre, Store Street London, where it will remain on display until 12th July. All 63 winners of Awards, Commendations and Mentions are featured in the exhibition, which will move to the Guildhall, Newcastle upon Tyne on 1st August 2007.

22nd May 2007 - The Planning white paper: bad for the environment, bad for communities. The Civic Trust has joined with a coalition of environmental charities and organisation in voicing our concern over proposals in the Planning White paper released on May 21st.

27th April 2007 - Civic Champion Trevor Lynn has recently expanded his highly successful community enterprise into the Norwich City Area. Mow and Grow is a community gardening business which has been proven to reduce crime, improves the appearance of the area and employs local people. www.mowandgrow.org.uk

April 2007 - The Civic Trust, alongside the new economics foundation, have launched "Who's the Entrepreneur?" - a book which reflects on the success of the BizFizz programme. The book highlights the many successes of the entreprenuers involved in the programme, and shows the powerful role that enterprise can play in regenerating a community. 13th February 2007 - The Civic Trust today announced that it will be working with Swindon on its first NightVision pilot. This innovative new programme aims to improve town and city centres at night and will be concentrating on the Fleet Street and John Street areas of Swindon where problems of litter, anti social behaviour and binge drinking are causing concern.
